With Trellis funding in 2018, Covenant Bay Bible Camp created their first audio series called Embark, which helps parents of any worldview support their children in Christian faith after camp.

The following year Covenant Bay developed a weekly podcast for campers and families called The Bible Story Podcast, to help students grow in relationship with Jesus. Covenant Bay’s Executive Director Jon Drebert and Program Director Bradon Pihowich built on what they had learned in their Embark project.

In 2020, the number of listeners to the Bible Story Podcast grew exponentially, reaching far more people than a typical year of events and camps at Covenant Bay.

The Bible Story Podcast imageThe growth of listeners is not slowing down. There were four times as many listeners in the first half of March as in all of January 2021. And it’s going global — in the spring of 2021 half of all Bible Story Podcast listeners lived in countries where Islam is the majority religion.

Jon Drebert says:

“Early in 2020, I received an email from a listener who was struggling to subscribe online and so received each episode via email. Her country limits internet content significantly, not in favour of Christianity. The Bible Story Podcast was intended to be a resource for camper parents to help their families grow in a relationship with Jesus. Yet God uses a simple act of storytelling to help people from every corner of the globe grow! Praise the Lord.”
